CARBON FIBER FRAME REPAIRS
At Carbon Steed we use only carbon fibre for our carbon repairs, no fillers ever.
Here is a typical repair of a down tube of a bike that has hit a garage whilst on a roof carrier. The damage has been removed and there now is a hole in each side of the down tube.
Once that damage has been removed we make a bladder to inflate inside the tube to apply an internal patch.
Next we apply a couple of layers of twill to make the surface level and strong.
Once this is complete, the final wrap of uni is applied to match the original layup
This is then sanded smooth and is ready for paint.
Primer is applied, all that is left to do is the easy part, paint. No one will ever know.
